Delete a room's captions

If something was said in a room that should not be kept, you can delete everything that room has captioned so far in one step. Phones and the room screen empty straight away, and the words are deleted everywhere we keep them.

When to use it

A remark that was meant to stay in the room, a slide read out that should not have been, or a rehearsal nobody needs to keep. It is the room-sized version of deleting one transcript.

How

On the Rooms tab, open the room's menu and choose Delete this room's captions so far, then confirm. Every phone reading that room, and its room screen, empty at once. The captions, their translations, the summaries written from them and our stored copy are deleted, for every session the room has had so far. It cannot be undone, and there is no copy to bring back, which is the point.

If the room is still live, captions carry on from the next sentence. Nothing is paused, and nobody needs to touch the room's laptop.

If we cannot reach the room at that moment, nothing is deleted and Frasiey says so. Try again in a moment. The hours the room captioned still count, because they were captioned.

One session, or one line

To delete a single session instead, open it on the Transcripts tab and delete it there. To take one line off the phones without deleting anything, hide it. Both are in Read, fix and download a transcript.

With only a phone Deleting a room's captions works from a phone, which is where you will be when you need it.

What to do next

To fix or hide single lines instead, read Read, fix and download a transcript.
