A captioned hour
One room captioning for one hour. Two rooms for an hour is two captioned hours. We bill the time a room actually turns speech into captions, to the second; silence between sessions is never billed, chatter between sessions is, unless your schedule stops the room. Load your schedule and captions follow it, so you never pay for dead air.
Every language is included
Translation is part of the captioned hour: all 100 reading languages, up to 24 in any one meeting. There is no per-language and no per-attendee fee.
Readers are free
However many people read, for as long as they like. You'll see them on your dashboard, never on your bill. The same goes for translation.
A two-day meeting, worked out
A two-day meeting with three rooms and four hours of sessions a day is 24 captioned hours: the 25-hour pack, $1,975, against $2,136 pay as you go.
- Your sessions
- 2 days × 3 rooms × 4 hours
- 24 hours
- Pay as you go
- 24 captioned hours × $89.00
- $2,136
- With a pack
- One 25-hour pack, every language included
- $1,975
A conference, worked out
Twelve rooms for three days, with seven hours of sessions a day, is 252 captioned hours. Packs stack, so you can buy as many as your meeting needs: two 100-hour packs, one 50-hour pack and one 25-hour pack cover it for $17,225, against $22,428 pay as you go. Pack hours last 12 months, so the hours left over stay yours for your next meeting.
- Your sessions
- 12 rooms × 3 days × 7 hours
- 252 hours
- Pay as you go
- 252 captioned hours × $89.00
- $22,428
- With packs
- Two 100-hour packs, one 50-hour pack and one 25-hour pack, every language included
- $17,225
Work out your meeting
Count every room that captions at the same time. Hours a day means hours of sessions, not the whole day the doors are open.
12 rooms for 3 days at 7 hours a day is 252 captioned hours. The worked example above prices it.
An estimate from the prices on this page. Your bill counts the time each room actually turns speech into captions, so the quiet moments inside a session bring it down.

Add summaries
Summaries: $9.00 per captioned hour, however you pay. Attendees read a running summary of every session on their phones.
A paid add-on. Off until you switch it on. A summary is there to help somebody catch up, not to stand as the minutes of the meeting.
Compared with interpreters: by the hour, not by the language.
Interpreters are priced per language, per person, per day, with booths and headsets on top. Frasiey is priced per captioned hour, and every language is included.
Human interpreters
- $80 to $250 an hour per interpreter, and two per language, because simultaneous interpreters work in shifts.
- Every language is another team. Three languages is six people before anyone speaks.
- Booths, receivers, headsets and a technician to run them, hired for the day.
- Booked weeks ahead, with travel and a daily minimum.
- A voice in an earpiece, which is the right thing for some rooms.
Frasiey
- $89 a captioned hour on pay as you go, and from $59 with an hour pack.
- Every language included. One hour is one hour, whether it is read in one language or forty.
- No equipment. The laptop already in the room, and the phones already in the seats.
- Ready in ten minutes, any day, with no minimum.
- Text on a phone, with the transcript waiting when the session ends.
A day in three languages
One room, a ten-hour conference day, read in Spanish, French and Japanese.
- Interpreters
- 2 per language × 3 languages × 10 hours × $100
- $6,000
- Booths and receivers
- Three booths and the headsets, rented for the day
- $2,500
- Interpreters, for the day
- Before travel and per diems
- $8,500
- Frasiey, pay as you go
- 10 captioned hours × $89.00, every language included
- $890
Interpreter and equipment figures are typical published agency rates in the United States, and vary by city, language and season. Frasiey is text on a phone rather than a voice in an earpiece, so a room that needs spoken interpretation may still want people in the booth. The Frasiey figure is the pay as you go rate in the table above.
Billing questions.
What does free include?
One room at a time, in every language, with no card, for 10 captioned hours a month. Attendees get the full reader, and you get the printable sign, the display and the schedule. Summaries, glossary suggestions, your own logo and color, and more than one room come with paid hours, or with your first meeting on us. Free translation may slow when we are busy.
Can I run two free meetings at once?
Not live at the same moment. Free is one room per meeting, and one live room per account, so a second free meeting waits until the first one's room stops. Your first meeting on us can have up to 3 rooms live beside it. For more, add a card or buy an hour pack and every room starts now.
How does my first meeting on us work?
Tell us about a meeting of up to 3 rooms that starts within the next 90 days and runs up to 7 days, and it's yours on the spot. It's once per organization. Every room gets what paid rooms get, summaries and your own logo and color included, for up to 30 captioned hours. We warn you 15 minutes before the hours run out; then captions stop, and you can buy hours to keep going. More about your first meeting
How is an hour measured?
We bill the time a room actually turns speech into captions, to the second; silence between sessions is never billed, chatter between sessions is, unless your schedule stops the room. A room outside its scheduled hours costs nothing.
How do I avoid paying for empty hours?
Load your schedule and captions follow it, so you never pay for dead air. Once your sessions are imported, turn on Follow the schedule and each room captions only its own sessions: the breaks between them are not captioned, so they are not billed. Import your schedule
How long do pack hours last?
12 months from the day you buy the pack. A pack bought for an annual conference lasts 12 months, so the hours it has left are there for anything else you run that year. Packs stack: buy as many as your meeting needs. Your oldest pack hours are used first, and always before anything is billed by the hour.
Can I buy more hours mid-meeting?
Yes, any time, without stopping a room. And if a pack runs out mid-meeting, your rooms keep going: your card stays on file, and the extra hours are billed at the pay as you go rate of $89 an hour. Payments are handled securely by Stripe.
Is there a discount for non-profits or education?
Write to hello@frasiey.com and tell us about your event. We'd much rather help your captions happen than let price get in the way.
