  1. Install Frasiey on the room's laptop

    It sits quietly in the menu bar or tray, connects to your account with a short code, and never appears on the projector. A recent Mac captions speakers in nine languages; Windows and older Macs caption English.

  2. Print the sign for each room

    Each room gets its own sign with a QR code. Attendees point their phone camera at it and they're reading. No app, no sign-in.

  3. Turn captions on

    Captions appear as the speaker talks, in whichever language each person chooses. When the session ends, the transcript is waiting for you.

No IT support required

No network settings and no servers. One download, one short code, and the room appears on your dashboard. Ceiling array, lectern feed or table mic: if the laptop can hear it, Frasiey can caption it.

Bring your schedule

Import your sessions from Cvent, Sched, Whova, EventMobi, X-CD, Oxford Abstracts or a spreadsheet, so attendees always see which session they're in. Load your schedule and captions follow it, so you never pay for dead air. On the day, your team can show who's "Now presenting".

Names that come out right

Give each meeting a glossary of speakers' names and terms. If a word still comes out wrong, you or your team can correct it, or hide the line, while the session is still going. Phones update in about a second. How fixing works

If the venue Wi-Fi drops, the laptop reconnects on its own and no words are lost. Your dashboard shows which rooms are live, how many people are reading and in which languages, and how many hours you've used.

Transcripts you can read and fix

Every session is saved with its translations, for as long as you choose to keep it. Fix a name everywhere in one go, then download it as text, a Word document or a subtitle file.

The audio never leaves the room. The room's laptop turns speech into text right there. Only the words travel, over an encrypted connection. The sound is never recorded or uploaded, so no one, including us, can listen in.

You choose how long text is kept

We keep each session's text so you can download the transcript. If you prefer, set it to delete itself after the number of days you choose.

Nobody reading along gives us a name, an email or a password. We can tell how many people are reading, never who they are.

Add summaries for $9 an hour

Turn on summaries and Frasiey writes a short, running summary of each session from its captions, so latecomers can catch up in a minute.

  • On the phone they already have. It sits beside the captions, one tap away, with no second link, no app and no account.
  • In the language they are reading. It is written in the language being spoken and in the languages people in that room are reading at the time, up to six of them.
  • Browse what came before. Earlier today holds the finished summaries of the earlier parts of the room's session, and when you allow it, Earlier sessions reaches back through the whole meeting. Somebody who walked in late reads what they missed in a minute.
  • Save the line that matters. Tap a line, then Save. Saved lines wait in their own tab, grouped by session and ready to copy or share, and they stay private to that phone. This works even with summaries off.

Summaries are a paid add-on at $9 an hour, on top of captions, however you pay. They stay off until you turn them on. Each summary is labeled as written from the captions: it's there to help people catch up, not to replace your minutes.

Questions planners ask.

Does the audio go to the cloud, or get recorded?

No. Frasiey turns speech into text on the room's own laptop, and only the words leave it. The sound is held just long enough to become text, and there's no way for us to listen to a room.

Does it need internet?

Yes, an ordinary connection, so the words can reach everyone's phones. If the venue Wi-Fi drops, Frasiey keeps transcribing and catches up the moment it's back, so your transcript is complete.

What do attendees need?

Just a phone with a browser. They scan the room's QR code and start reading, with no app and no account. If you'd like, you can add an access code so only your attendees can read.

Which languages can people read in, and which can the room speak?

People can read in any of 100 languages, including Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic and Hindi. You choose up to 24 for each meeting. Speakers can talk in English on any laptop, or on a recent Mac in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean or Chinese. The reading languages are the same either way. Each room captions one spoken language at a time, so for a bilingual session, set it up as two rooms.

What laptop do I need?

The one that's already running the room's screen, as long as it can hear a microphone. Mac: macOS 12 or later. Windows: 64-bit Windows 10 or later. The download page has the full list.

Can this meet an accessibility request?

Frasiey is live text on a phone, written by a machine, not a human captioner. Where a human captioner is legally required, plan a backup for those rooms. Talk to us before the show at hello@frasiey.com and we'll help you plan it.

How good is the transcription?

Made for following a talk, and it's at its best with a decent microphone and a speaker who stays close to it. Adding a glossary of names and acronyms makes a real difference. For a word-for-word legal record, you'll still want a court reporter.

How am I billed?

We bill the time a room actually turns speech into captions, to the second; silence between sessions is never billed, chatter between sessions is, unless your schedule stops the room. Summaries are added if you turn them on. Translation and readers are always free. A free account is never billed. If you've bought an hour pack, its hours are used first. Anything past them is added up each month on one invoice.
